How to Set Transaction Fees as default,On-charge, Absorb or Split transaction fees in Payment Term Settings

In Payment Terms Settings, you can find a new section in the "More" Actions called "Transaction Fees" which will allow you to set as Default, On-charge, Absorb or Split transaction fees

To check your active Payment Terms in Pencil, you can use this link:

In Pencil, go to Settings -> Credit Forms -> Payment Terms Settings -> Set "Active" filter to "Yes. (Note: To view your Active payment terms)

Under Actions, You can click on the black "More..." button to view relevant Credit Form Settings for each Active payment term.

You can also select the Default payment term under Default then tick the radio button of your preferred default payment term.

Click the black "More..." button and configure the required information for the payment term you would like to configure.

Here, you will find multiple settings to configure for your payment term. Scroll down to "Transaction Fees as default" setting. You can tick this checkbox if you wish to apply your default settings for the transaction fees.

Note: Your default settings can be found in Settings → Invoices & Collections → Transaction Fee Settings.

If you wish to override these, you can update here.

You will find the default Invoices & Collections Payment Processing Settings for all your customers.

Your default auto-charge settings, Invoice Reminders and Payment Settings can be found under Invoices & Collections. 


If you would like to Absorb, Split or On-charge the transaction fee, you need to untick the checkbox next to Transaction Fees as default and you will then find the drop-down options to Absorb, Split or On-charge the transaction fee for Credit Card and for Direct Debit.

Select from the drop-down options to Absorb, Split or On-charge the transaction fee for Credit Card and for Direct Debit and hit "Save" button.
