Understanding PencilPay's Auto-charge Feature
Automate your payment collections with PencilPay's auto-charge feature. Learn how to set up automatic invoice charging on due dates or after set intervals.
If you have auto-charge enabled for your customer and a saved payment method (such as a credit card), PencilPay will automatically charge invoices based on the schedule you set.
You can specify when auto-charge occurs -on the due date, or a certain number of days overdue.
The standard options include charging on the due date or at set intervals after the due date (e.g., 1, 7, 14, 21, or 30 days overdue, etc.).
For example if your payment term for the customer is set to "30 days from invoice," and auto-charge is enabled for the due date, the system will process the payment automatically 30 days after the invoice date, provided there is a saved payment method.
"If system default settings are toggled on what does this mean?" → This only means that your default Settings in (Settings -> Invoices & Collections -> Invoices & Collections) apply to the customer
